Sharon Ebert, community development director for Johns Creek for the past four years, will bring a 25-year career in architecture, planning and development to a close with her retirement, the city announced.

Ebert provided strategic management and oversight for all community development services including planning, zoning, land development, building and permitting, code compliance and stormwater management, the city said.

Assistant City Manager Kimberly Greer will serve as interim community development director as City Manager Warren Hutmacher coordinates search efforts to permanently fill the position.

“Sharon was diligent and exhaustive in her efforts, creating a professional environment built on service, success and results,” Hutmacher said.

“Sharon played an exceptional and integral leadership role in the development and approval of the 2018 Johns Creek Comprehensive Plan, which is today the guiding document for future growth in the city for the next 10 years,” said Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker.
