Nearly a week after arriving at Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, “John Doe” was identified Saturday night, the hospital said.

The man, a shooting victim, was dropped off at DeKalb Medical Center before being transferred to Grady’s trauma center around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 1, Denise Simpson, Grady spokeswoman, said in an emailed statement Friday.

The hospital also released a photo of the man to help identify him.

Due to privacy laws, the man’s name was not released.
