Two drivers were injured in a head-on crash Tuesday morning in Cobb County.

Two people were transported to metro Atlanta hospitals following a two-vehicle, head-on crash late Tuesday morning in Cobb County.

Officers were dispatched to the collision around 11:59 a.m. on Brownsville Road near Hill Road in Powder Springs.

According to Cobb police, a brown 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling northbound on Brownsville Road while a white 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 truck was going southbound on the same roadway.

Cobb police spokesperson Neil Penirelli said the Trailblazer crossed the double yellow line and crashed into the Dodge Ram.

The drivers of both vehicles, who received non-life-threatening injuries, had to be extricated from their trucks. Winston Alvertis Al-Ali George, 40, of Powder Springs, the driver of the Trailblazer, was airlifted to WellStar Atlanta Medical Center.

Samuel K. Atcheson, 49, of Temple, who was behind the wheel of the Ram, was taken by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment.
