Decatur is holding an information session on the $75 million bond referendum 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Decatur Recreation Center, 231 Sycamore Street. City Schools Decatur board members and staff will answer questions and provide information on the bond and the proposed construction projects it will fund.
If approved by voters on Nov. 3, the bond will pay for renovation and new construction at both Renfroe Middle and Decatur High schools, along with acquisition of land on Talley Street for building a new elementary/4/5 Academy. It will also pay for modular classrooms during construction and may finance a new Early Childhood Learning Center in the proposed Columbia Ventures development of the Avondale Estates MARTA parking lot.
