Indigent burial budget raised in Henry

The Henry County Board of Commissioners approved an increase in indigent burial funding to a maximum of $500, doubling the previous cap. County officials said that whenever a person dies in the county and the decedent family and immediate relatives are indigent and unable to provide for a decent interment, the county provides assistance through the Department of Family and Children Services. More than 60 such requests have been paid since 2007, according to a county official.
