Milton now has a candidate running for City Council District 3, Post 1: the incumbent, Joseph Longoria, who put his name in for a third term on the council.
Longoria will run for re-election Nov. 7 after qualifying during the extended candidates’ qualifying period, which ended Aug. 29. No candidate emerged for the District 3, Post 1 seat during the initial qualifying the week before.
The incumbent was first elected to the council in 2009 and was re-elected in 2014, according to his official city profile. He is a technology executive for U.S. Bank.
A Milton resident for the last 17 years, Longoria and his wife Brenda have three children.
