Gwinnett commissioners on Tuesday approved the use of SPLOST funds for improvements at two intersections in unincorporated Lawrenceville.
CMES Inc. was the lowest responsive bidder at $732,392 for one project to add another left turn lane onto Lawrenceville Suwanee Road from Walther Boulevard. The additional lane will create dual left turn lanes, and lengthen the left turn lane from Lawrenceville Suwanee onto Walther.
The second project will add a right turn lane on Cruse Road northbound at Pleasant Hill Road. Both projects include pedestrian and traffic signal upgrades.
Work on both projects is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
