The Acworth Police Department is gathering supplies for those still reeling from the deadly wildfires in Tennessee.
Sevier County, Tennessee, which includes Gatlinburg, has requested specific items in the recovery from the wildfires that ripped through the area. Rain has helped calm the flames.
This is the second time Acworth police have collected donations for victims of the wildfire. The agency made the announcement on its Facebook page.
This time around, they've put an emphasis on warm clothing and blankets, as temperatures are expected to dip into the teens.
Here's what they're looking for:
♦ Gatorade (not water)
♦ Tarps
♦ Shrink wrap
♦ New blankets
♦ New pillows
♦ New heavy coats (all sizes)
♦ New heavy blankets
Acworth police plan to head for Tennessee to deliver this batch of goods Wednesday morning.
Drop off your donations at the detention facility's 24-hour lobby at 4400 Acworth Industrial Drive.
