Lisa didn’t mean to be a stick in the mud.
But when the horse slipped into a ditch Tuesday morning, it took several Clayton County firefighters hours to free her from the brown muddy mess.
Around 11 a.m., a Rex resident thought she heard the horse crying for help, David Vazquez, battalion chief, told Channel 2 Action News. Lisa the horse did need help. When her owner found her, she was in a ditch on the back side of the property, Vazquez said.
Later Tuesday afternoon, firefighters were able to pull Lisa to safety. The horse was tired, but didn’t appear to be seriously injured. A veterinarian evaluated the horse at the Dease Road home.
