A hit-and-run driver slammed into a light pole early Sunday morning and caused damage that closed Roswell Road at Glenridge Drive in Sandy Springs.

The incident happened around 3 a.m., and crews were still on the scene working on repairs at noon.

Authorities are looking for the person who was driving a black Honda Accord with a Tennessee tag, Capt. Steve Rose with Sandy Springs police said. The disabled vehicle was recovered by police, but the driver had fled the scene.

Repairs were expected to be completed by early afternoon, Channel 2 Action News reported.
