Work is progressing well on Powder Spring’s Historic Bodiford House, Interim City Manager Pam Conner said during Wednesday’s agenda work session.

The foundation has been shored up and insulation installed in the second floor by The Macallan Group, said Conner.

Also, the public restroom has been framed.

So far, the renovation is costing nearly $800,000 beyond its $175,000 acquisition in June.

With a summer opening planned, the 3,600-square-foot, century-old house will become the new home of the Seven Springs Museum, now housed next to the train tracks at Powder Springs Park.

Norfolk Southern is expected to expand its tracks within the next few years.
