In case you’ve been hiding under a rock, or a can of Arnold Palmer half-and-half, April 26 is National Golf Day.

To celebrate, why not learn how to play? And you can do it for free.

Topgolf has announced that it is attempting to break a record for most golf lessons taught in a single day. So Topgolf’s around the country — including its two metro Atlanta locations in Midtown and Alpharetta — are offering free five-minute lessons to anyone who visits a Topgolf on Wednesday.

In 2016, the Dallas-based sports entertainment company handed out 2,251 free lessons.

“Thanks to our Topgolf U instructional program, Topgolf is doubling down on our commitment to help grow the game by introducing our guests to the sport in a high-energy, fun and laid-back environment,” said Erik Anderson, co-chairman and CEO for Topgolf.

What gets covered in those free five minutes is up to you, Topgolf says. Want to work on your putt-game? No problem. Want to add some distance to your drive? That’s covered too.

If you’re wanting to take a closer look at your swing, slow-motion video analysis through the Topgolf U instructional program will also be available.

Both metro Atlanta Topgolf locations are open from 9 a.m. to midnight on Wednesday.
