Hey, metro Atlanta: Here’s how you can get a free smoothie today
With a predicted high temperature of 87 degrees, Tropical Smoothie picked a good day to offer free smoothies at its locations throughout metro Atlanta.
If you’re wearing flip-flops (because it’s National Flip Flop Day — obviously), all stores in the area will give you a 16-ounce Sunshine Smoothie from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., said Debbie Pike, owner of a Kennesaw location.
The smoothie — which has oranges, orange juice, mango and pineapple — debuts today as part of the company's fundraising effort for Camp Sunshine, a camp for children with cancer.
Pike said that while the smoothie is new, the flip-flop promotion is not, with each store across the nation usually giving away 1,000 smoothies each.
