Here’s where you can catch some fireworks this Fourth (and third):

Duluth

The city of Duluth holds its annual Independence Day celebration on July 3. Duluth Celebrates America is a family-friendly party on the Duluth Town Green featuring kids’ games, food trucks and live music. Local groups Backyard Brooklyn and A-Town A-List will perform on the main stage between 5:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. and Tommy and Marty will perform in Parsons Alley from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Fireworks expected to start at 9:50 p.m. Food trucks will be serving around the event area and you can bring your own coolers, including alcoholic beverages. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends after the fireworks display is finished.

Lawrenceville

Lawrenceville’s annual Prelude to the Fourth is another early and family-friendly Fourth of July celebration. The event on the Lawrenceville Lawn begins at 5 p.m., with 10 food trucks selling everything from lobster rolls and kebabs to Italian ice and cookies. McCray’s Tavern will be selling beer and wine, which can be consumed on the lawn, and there will be live music from Maggie Baugh and the Swingin’ Medallions. The first 300 people to arrive at the Lawrenceville Lawn will receive free 3-D glasses to use while watching the fireworks display.

Sugar Hill

Another July 3 option is Sparks in the Park, held in Sugar Hill’s E.E. Robinson Park. The event will feature a live performance from local musicians Livin’ Large and a lineup of food trucks for your dining pleasure. The family-friendly event encourages guests to set up on blankets or chairs to get a comfortable seat for the fireworks. THe event begins at 6:30 p.m.

Norcross

See some Sparks in the Park on July 3. The Norcross event is held in Lillian Webb Park starting at 5 p.m. Kids can enjoy bounce houses (for a “nominal fee”) and face painting, and everyone can stuff their faces with goods from a variety of food vendors. Local music group No Limits will perform in the park before fireworks, which are expected to go off beginning at 9:40 p.m.
