It’s homecoming week for Marietta High School, so let this serve as your reminder to avoid being in a motor vehicle around Marietta Square on Friday.

Marietta police say the Square will be closed because of the homecoming parade for about an hour starting at 5 p.m.

The parade will start on Dobbs Street near Cherokee Street and proceed through the Square and loop around Glover Park before heading north onto Polk Street and west to Northcutt Stadium.

As with every home game, Polk Street Northwest will be closed between Winn Street and Cleburne Avenue until about 11 p.m.

The Blue Devils are set to play the North Cobb Warriors at 7:30 p.m. The team has lost one game, to Lassiter Trojans, so far this season.
