Henry County is submitting a feasibility study to the Georgia Department of Transportation regarding the possibility of a new I-75 interchange in the McDonough area. Looking at the three interchanges currently serving McDonough and particularly the industrial corridor next to I-75, officials said traffic in the area shows a definite need and there are several options for placing a new interchange.
Moving forward on such a project ultimately requires state and federal approval.
The Board of Commissioners voted Sept. 1 to submit the results of the feasibility study, which was paid for by SPLOST funds.
