The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted recently to return a portion of the property slated for the former Henry Promenade development to its original residential agricultural zoning. The land owner made the request so that the undeveloped property would not face potentially higher taxes under a commercial zoning designation.

The site in question is on North Bridges Road near the southwest corner of the Interstate 75/Jonesboro Road interchange. As for Henry Promenade, according to county staff, “At this time, it appears that the developer has delayed or abandoned the project.”
