Henry County district attorney Jim Wright has announced that he will not run for a second term this year.

He won election in 2012 to succeed Tommy Floyd, who retired. Wright began working in the DA’s office as an investigator in 1986 and became a prosecutor in 1991, when Henry was part of the four-county Flint Judicial Circuit.

Several local attorneys have already announced their intention to run for the post.
