Six teachers in Henry County public schools were named semifinalists for the county’s annual Teacher of the Year award. The honorees were notified Sept. 25 with surprise visits from district officials to their classrooms.
Patsy Farmer of EXCEL Academy (middle school), Stephanie Fowler of EXCEL Academy (high school), Sonja McLeod of Union Grove High School, Krystal Richter of Rock Spring Elementary School, Kathy Saucier of Union Grove Middle School and Nathan Waterhouse of Ola Elementary School will vie for the top honor which will be announced Oct. 19 at the annual Harvest of Heroes ceremony.
These teachers and 47 others will be recognized as Teacher of the Year for their respective schools, and other staff awards will be given as well.
