Henry County police to purchase unmanned aircraft

The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted recently to approve the purchase of two unmanned aircraft and assorted accessories for use by the Henry County Police Department.

The $18,661.16 purchase will be funded by the federal asset forfeiture and seized funds account. Police officials said the equipment will be very useful in various operations at a much lower cost than the use of helicopters, which the county does not own and for which assistance is sometimes requested from neighboring counties.
