The Henry County Police Department will be receiving a $10,000 piece of equipment thanks to a recent corporate giveaway.

A Dec. 23 statement by SUMURI, a company that develops software and hardware for the digital forensics industry, revealed that the HCPD was named the winner of its annual SUMURI Gives Back campaign, with the most votes out of nearly 700,000 tallied overall. The department will receive a yellow TALINO forensic workstation nicknamed Bumblebee.

An HCPD spokesman said it will allow the department to process computer data, hard drives, HD images, cellphone data and extractions more proficiently for a wide range of computer-based and Internet-based crimes.
