Bids for two improvement projects at Hampton’s Henry County Airport were approved April 3 by the Board of Commissioners.
The county will spend $986,640 to improve a runway and safety area as well as $54,275 to repair pavement at the site. The contract with the Georgia Department of Transportation, which has allocated $1,839,847 in federal funds and $192,313 in state funds for these projects, requires matching county funds. County officials have confirmed their intent to proceed with and fund the projects according to a staff report.
