Henry County board continues Extension Services agreement

The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously at its June 16 regular meeting to approve a memorandum of understanding with the state’s Board of Regents on behalf of University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Services, outlining responsibilities for county extension personnel.

Extension faculty and staff conduct community-wide educational programs for youth and adults in the areas of agriculture, natural resources and environmental management, family and consumer sciences, 4-H/youth development and related subjects. The board also approved a request to add two new lights to an existing streetlight district for Oakland Station subdivision on Highway 81 West.

The county’s land development plan allows for the addition of three or fewer lights without a petition from the residents.
