The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its May 5 regular meeting to approve a resolution requesting that the District 4 Department of Public Health open additional testing sites in the county for COVID-19.

As of the day of the vote, there were 542 confirmed cases in the county — more than any other county within the District 4 Public Health region — with 14 total deaths, according to the resolution. One existing DPH-operated testing site is at Heritage Senior Center in McDonough. As for county employees who have been working during the shutdown, the board voted to extend their hazard pay supplement through May 3.
