The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its Nov. 27 regular meeting to approve a rezoning request for 84 acres on Lester Mill Road at Bill Gardner Parkway for a mixed-use residential and commercial development.

The request from Hilibee Grove LLC of Carrollton was for rezoning from PD (planned development) to MU (mixed use) and the intention of the developer is to build lofts above retail, brownstone-style townhouses and single-family homes, according to a staff report.

The county’s Zoning Advisory Board voted Nov. 8 to recommend approval with conditions.
