The Henry County Board of Commissioners approved at its Sept. 5 meetings a resolution amending the Henry County Occupational Tax administrative fee from $35 to $60.

Henry County Tax Commissioner David Curry said the $35 administration fee has not been adjusted in 23 years and will now allow Henry County to be compatible with surrounding city offices. “We probably have three times as many businesses than we had in 1995,” said Curry. “The workload has increased. When it [the ordinance] started we had one employee now we have three in the department. It is past due for an increase in the occupational tax administrative and certificate fee.”
