The Hapeville City Council will discuss a pay raise during the special called meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hapeville City Hall, 700 Doug Davis Drive. The goal of the council is to bring its staff’s income closer to competitive market levels, determining that city employees gets $600,000 less than that. The last raise provided for city employees was 2005.

The council will also have a first reading of the new alcohol ordinance. A temporary law passed that governs microbreweries in the city will expire Sept. 30 unless the council votes for an extension. If approved, the temporary law will be extended until Dec. 31.
