The Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management will conduct its final public meeting to discuss the 2020 Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan update at 5:30 p.m. July 29 in conference room A at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.

Attendees will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the plan update, the county’s identified hazards, and potential future projects. The plan covers all of unincorporated Gwinnett as well as each city within the county.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency requires 5-year plan updates to be eligible for federal funding. The Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management is a unit of the Gwinnett County Police Department. Together they work to handle planning for emergencies and disasters, coordinating responses to incidents, directing hazard mitigation, and assisting government officials and its residents in recovery after an incident.
