Gwinnett saves money by leasing computer equipment
Gwinnett Commissioners agree Dec. 15 to savings of $772,860 for the lease of systems, applications and products equipment for the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center on a 48-month lease from IBM Corp., Lessor IBM Credit LLC.
The initial term of this contract for all of 2016 is $190,503.48. The contract may be automatically renewed on an annual basis for a total lifetime contract term of four years, for a total of $1,333,524.
The 45.63 percent cost savings is the result of leasing versus buying the equipment. The lease is for required hardware, software and maintenance to support the Gwinnett SAP environment. The equipment and services will improve the flexibility, load balancing, disaster recovery planning, and reduce application performance and processing time.
