Gwinnett reminds residents of outdoor watering restrictions

June 10, 2011

Gwinnett County is reminding residents to refrain from outdoor watering during the heat of the day.

Under state and local law, outdoor watering is allowed seven days a week but is prohibited from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. because it’s likely to evaporate before it soaks in.

For all other outdoor water uses, like filling swimming pools or washing cars, residents must follow an “odd/even” schedule. Even and un-numbered addresses can use water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Odd addresses may use water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. No addresses may use water for those purposes on Fridays.
