The Gwinnett Police Department is accepting applications for the next Citizens Police Academy which will run March 20 through May 10. The academy meets 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday during the eight-week course.

Participants will learn how the police department is organized and operated, tour police headquarters and learn about what each unit in the police department actually does.

The Citizens Police Academy is open to all Gwinnett residents that are 18 years of age or older, who successfully pass the application process and a driver’s and criminal history check. The next session will be offered in the fall. Applications can be submitted now for spring or fall.
