The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved a $200,000 contract Jan. 6 for mowing and trimming landscaped roadsides and along public sidewalks. The two-part contract is a renewal with ACS Landscape Management Inc. and North Georgia Landscaping and Construction Group.

All roads that were previously on a six-week mowing cycle will now be on a three-week cycle. Through successful negotiations, Gwinnett’s Department of Transportation was able to realize a cost savings of approximately $4,000 without a reduction in the scope of services. The repeated mowing maintains intended aesthetics and provides added safety to motorists and pedestrians.
