April 26, 2017A Lawrenceville home caught fire Tuesday morning, causing extensive interior damage, Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services said.
Nobody was home when a neighbor saw smoke coming from the house and called 911. When firefighters arrived at 11:38 a.m., they saw smoke coming from the attic and the second floor of the wood-frame house on the 700 block of Garden Grove Drive Northwest.
Flames spread through the walls and floor system, causing significant interior damage that isn’t apparent from the home’s exterior, according to Capt. Tommy Rutledge. The fire was under control at 12:02 p.m. and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, but is under investigation.
