Gwinnett Commissioners voted June 23 to deny a request for townhomes near 1600 Purcell Road and 1800 Marie Way in Lawrenceville. The Planning and Development department expressed concern the proposed 18 townhomes on 2.34 acres do not conform to existing development standards. Although the area is currently surrounded by mobile home subdivisions and light industrial, commissioners sited the 2030 Unified Plan calls for future development with larger lots at a low density.
The applicant, Maiser Aboneaaj, is free to resubmit the request with a revised site plan to reduce the number of units.
