Gwinnett commissioners agreed July 21 to a contract to remove and replace roofing at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration in Lawrenceville. The project includes demolition and replacement of the existing roof and waterproofing.
According to county documents, there are a limited number of roofing companies with the resources to perform a job of this size. In addition, of the companies capable of performing the work needed, several are scheduled on other projects well in advance. Four bids were originally received, with the $2.54 million contract going to low bidder Roof Management Inc. of Doraville.
As part of the agreement, the work will be performed at night to avoid interference with operations or distractions at the center.
