The Gwinnett Board of Commissioners approved a special use permit Dec. 1 to allow for automobile sales at the southeast side of Buford Highway, just south of its intersection with Steve Drive in Doraville. The site is currently developed with multiple buildings totaling approximately 6,780 square feet, associated parking and driveways.

The applicant, Marilyn Gomez representing the owner Juan Diaz Cruz, is currently operating an automobile sales business, with cars offered for sale from the front parking area along Buford Highway. There are no planned changes to the existing building, driveways or parking lots.

This appeal is the result of a Gwinnett Police Department Code Enforcement case. The requested special use permit will bring the business into compliance with county zoning requirements.
