The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved more than $400,000 worth of improvements to Briscoe Field in Lawrenceville at their Tuesday meeting. The improvements include control tower improvements and paving projects. Commissioners also agreed to conduct an environmental assessment for proposed runway rehabilitation and taxiway extension projects.

The projects were among those recommended by a citizens review committee and are intended to make the airport safer and more efficient for general aviation, county officials said.
