Gwinnett Commissioners approved funds Tuesday to develop sidewalk construction documents for a project along the north side of Harbins Road from Singleton Road in Norcross to Dickens Road in Lilburn.

When completed, the one and a half-mile sidewalk will tie the Harbins Road residential area into retail areas and Bryson Park as well as Lilburn Elementary School.

The $160,000 contract is awarded to the highest scoring firm, KCI Technologies, Inc. of Sparks, Maryland. The project is funded 93 percent by a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant and seven percent by the 2009 SPLOST fund.
