Gwinnett Commissioners recently approved a request for a special use permit that will allow an auto sales and related service business in the 4600 block of Jimmy Carter Boulevard north of the road’s intersection with Britt Road and Williams Road in unincorporated Norcross. Attorney Brian Jenabzadeh, representing the owner Shah Investments I, LLC, resubmitted the application after the request was denied in Dec.

The proposed business will occupy a 7,670-square foot vacant area at the rear of the building. The remaining square footage of the building is occupied by an existing Talpa Supermercado grocery store.

The site has 44 parking spaces available, 22 of which would be designated for the auto sale business and the remaining providing the required parking for the grocery store. Approval came with a number of conditions including a requirement that all sales, storage of vehicle inventory and auto service will take place within the building only. Parking outside the building will be restricted to employees and customers only and must be on paved surfaces within lined parking spaces. Additional restrictions apply to signage, lighting and prohibit outdoor loudspeakers.

No changes were proposed to the building since there is an existing garage door providing access into the interior of the building where the inventory of vehicles will be stored. Any changes to the building will require additional approval.
