The Gwinnett Board of Commissioners recently approved $2.6 million in SPLOST-funded transportation projects. The recent actions include:

Award of a construction contract for $1,846,606 to improve the intersection of Suwanee Dam Road and Riverside Road. This contract is funded 67.5 percent by the 2014 SPLOST program and 32.5 percent by Sugar Hill. The project will realign the intersection and add a traffic signal, along with left-turn lanes, sidewalks, and curb and gutter on Suwanee Dam Road.

Award a construction contract for $729,417 to install a roundabout at the intersection of North Road and Pharrs Road.

Approval to amend an agreement with the Gateway 85 Gwinnett CID to add the Jimmy Carter Boulevard corridor from Live Oak Parkway to Brook Hollow Parkway into the Street Lighting Program at a cost of $93,582.

Approval to enter an agreement with Gateway 85 Gwinnett CID to improve the intersection of Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Rockbridge Road with an upgraded traffic signal and landscaping. The signal upgrade is funded by 2017 SPLOST. The CID is funding the enhancement to install mast arms and to install and maintain the landscaping.$2.6
