The Gwinnett animal shelter’s Easter eggs may not contain candy, but they will hold a surprise to help you adopt a new pet. The shelter will hold an Adoption Egg-Stravaganza 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at 884 Winder Highway in Lawrenceville.

“Each plastic egg will contain a special adoption price,” said Animal Welfare and Enforcement Division Manager Alan Davis. “Some eggs will even contain a surprise for a free adoption.”

Egg-Stravaganza prices are only good on the day of the event. The usual adoption fee for dogs and puppies is $45 and $30 for cats and kittens. All pets adopted at Gwinnett Animal Welfare have been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and are ready to go to their new home.

The animal shelter is open for adoptions 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Information about available pets, adoption specials and activities: www.GwinnettAnimalWelfare.com.
