Gwinnett District Attorney Danny Porter’s office received approval Dec. 1 from the Gwinnett Commissioners to provide up to three full-time prosecutors to provide legal and prosecution services to the Atlanta-Carolinas High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area. The HIDTA will reimburse the county up to $128,000 per prosecutor.

The original agreement approved in 2007 allows for two assistant district attorneys to be funded by the U.S. Attorney’s office for the purposes of prosecuting drug trafficking cases in the Atlanta-Carolinas HIDTA.
