Gwinnett commissioners on Oct. 20 voted to accept a $35,000 grant from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security. These funds will be used to purchase a search cam, personal protective equipment ensemble, and various equipment maintenance or replacement for the Georgia Search and Rescue truck. The equipment is used to help the agency prevent, protect against, respond to and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters, and other emergencies.

The grant is 100 percent funded through GEMA/HS with no match required.
