Griffin High grad killed in Afghanistan

A 23-year-old soldier from Griffin died Tuesday in Afghanistan, the U.S. Department of Defense said.

Pvt. Jeremy P. Faulkner died of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit in the Konar province. Faulkner was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Ky., the department of defense said.

Faulkner was a Griffin High School graduate.
