Girls Inc. seeks volunteers for Health & Wellness
Girls Incorporated of Greater Atlanta is seeking volunteers to help with a summer program. Girls Inc. University encourages girls to pursue higher education and set goals for their future. In addition, girls use math and literacy skills daily to ensure they return to school ready to succeed. Each week during the summer at Girls Inc. University, girls will explore a different major, experiencing new career opportunities for their future.
Volunteers are needed to support the Health & Wellness programming. Volunteers may join Monday Runday with the girls, yoga, Zumba, and other fun, healthy activities.
Minimum age to volunteer is 18 and a background check and orientation is required prior to starting volunteerism with Girls Incorporated of Greater Atlanta. Volunteers are asked to help pay for the cost of the background check ($25). The site is wheelchair accessible. This is not open to court-ordered service.

Green Market seeks help
The Green Market is a program in partnership between the Piedmont Park Conservancy and the City of Atlanta Parks, Recreation and Bureau of Cultural Affairs and offers fresh, locally grown produce, farm fresh meats, artisan cheeses, snacks, live music, chef demos and kids programs in a weekly open-air farmer’s market.
Volunteers must be at least 13 years unless accompanied by an adult, able to communicate effectively with the public, lift up to 20 lbs., and work outdoors in various weather conditions. (Market is rain or shine).
Volunteer tasks include Green Market set up and break down, chef demonstration assistant, Green Market surveyor, market veggie valet.

Help with vision and hearing services
Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation is the only statewide provider of vision and hearing services. The organization needs volunteers to meet the demand for eyeglasses requests for mission trips. Help is needed to get the eyeglasses ready. Volunteer opportunities in the Recycling Center include, but are not limited to: washing and sorting eyeglasses and reading eyeglass prescriptions.
