Open House Atlanta seeks architecture buffs for event

Open House Atlanta is an annual architecture festival giving the public an opportunity to explore new and historic architectural landmarks in the city. For just one weekend, attendees are invited behind the scenes of architecture, with exclusive access to sacred spaces, hotels, museums, offices and more–many spaces that rarely open to the public.

The free festival, celebrating some of Atlanta’s best buildings, will be held this month. But they need volunteers.

Open House Atlanta is looking for people to help visitors at sites across Buckhead, Midtown, and downtown. Those who are interested can sign up on the Open House website.

Sites on this year’s list include 100 Peachtree — formerly the Equitable Building, the Flatiron Building, the Odd Fellows Building, the Georgian Terrace, the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum and the sanctuary at St. Mark’s in Midtown.

Volunteers are needed for event/day weekend position as building docents and guides for participating locations around the city.
