Help clean up Peachtree Creek

Join Livable Buckhead and its partners to clean up Peachtree Creek. Southfork Conservancy will provide tools and guidance to remove litter and debris, as well as some trail maintenance and light infrastructure improvements to the trail. Our effort will focus on Peachtree Creek, improving overall water quality and bringing awareness of and involvement in the preservation of our local creek and water resources.

Peachtree Creek funnels water from an immense natural drainage basin that serves some 55,000 acres of land ranging from Decatur to Dunwoody. With concerted efforts, the community can preserve and improve Georgia’s water resources.

In an effort to reduce our impact on the environment, Livable Buckhead will be providing drinking water via a water cooler, so please bring a refillable water bottle to help yourself. Light snacks will be available as well, but it is advised that volunteers eat breakfast beforehand to be charged up and ready for the day. It is recommended that volunteers wear shoes/boots that are comfortable and can get dirty, long pants, and bring/wear a long sleeved shirt to protect their skin from mosquitoes and the brush. Additionally, it is recommended volunteers bring/wear sunscreen and bug repellent.

With limited parking at the trailhead, a shuttle service will be provided. Between 9:30a.m. and 10 a.m., a shuttle will transport volunteers from AMLI Piedmont Heights to Cedar Chase Trailhead where they will be given guidance, tools and a t-shirt. The shuttle service back to AMLI Piedmont Heights will run between noon and 1 p.m.

Volunteers are encouraged to ride MARTA to the Lindbergh MARTA station and then walk south on Piedmont Road to Garson Drive/Adina Drive to AMLI Piedmont Heights located at 2323 Piedmont Road NE, Atlanta.
