A new Dippin’ Dots store is open at the Mall of Georgia and you can get a free cup of the frozen treat at the grand opening Saturday.
The store is on the mall’s first floor, near Dick’s Sporting Goods. It’s the third Dippin’ Dots venture for franchise owner Brent Deitsch, who also runs the Dippin’ Dots store at Sugarloaf Mills and provides the tiny spherical “ice cream of the future” to Margaritaville at Lanier Islands.
Guests at the Aug. 18 grand opening will get a free small cup of Dippin’ Dots. There will be an ice cream eating contest, with a free year of Dippin’ Dots as the grand prize. There will be prize giveaways throughout the day as well, Deitsch said.
The event will last from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
