She told Channel 2 Action News how being robbed has changed her normal routine.

Ambar Johnson says she was walking home from a MARTA station in southwest Atlanta when she noticed two young men behind her.

She says she didn't feel threatened until about five minutes later, just before she made it home.

“One lagged behind and the other went in front of me. They were trying to sandwich me in,” Johnson said.

It happened on Bonnie Brae Avenue on Wednesday night.

Johnson said one of the men ordered her to give up her book bag and phone. At first, she said no.

“And then he struggled for it and said he would shoot me. So I was like, ‘It's not worth it, just take my phone,’ and i just ran,” she said.

She got away safely, but says they stole her phone, debit card, Georgia Tech ID, and her monthly MARTA pass -- a scary ordeal that she says has taught her a lesson.

“Even if I’m walking home alone, I ask for a police escort. It's better to be safe than sorry,” she said.

Johnson said the robbers could not have been more than 18 years old. She said one of them had dreadlocks with blonde tips.

She told Channel 2 Action News police have not yet made any arrests.
