Georgia Tech men’s basketball team member Chris Bolden was arrested and charged with DUI in Gwinnett County this weekend.
Bolden, a 20-year-old sophomore, also was charged with purchase or possession of alcohol by a minor, speeding and improper lane change, according to the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office online docket.
According to the docket, Bolden was booked into the Gwinnett County jail at 6 a.m. Saturday and released early Saturday afternoon. Reached Sunday afternoon, a school spokesman said that the team is aware of the situation and gathering facts but had no comment.
Bolden, who started 15 games last season, attended North Gwinnett High. He is the second member of the program to be arrested for DUI in less than a year. Last December, assistant coach Josh Postorino was arrested for DUI while on a recruiting trip in Jacksonville, Fla. He was suspended from coaching for five games.
Tech’s summer term ended Friday. The fall term begins Aug. 19.
